Nafsika Skourti is a half Greek, half Jordanian designer who was raised mostly in Jordan. Her creative inclinations were apparent from an early age reflected in her love of painting, making, and craft.
Nafsika moved to London where she was offered a place at the prestig- ious Central Saint Martins to pursue a BA degree in fashion design with print – a womenswear program with an emphasis on textile development. To further develop her skills she enrolled at Ecole Lesage in Paris, (par excellence institution that creates couture embroideries for Chanel, Dior and Givenchy ). She later worked at Jasmine Di Milo for Harrods in London and after that assisted at Marchesa in New York, working closely with the design team. Eventually taking the decision to move back to Jordan, she became the artistic director at one of the oldest design houses in Jordan founded on the values of traditional craftsmanship, artisana techniques and oriental embroidery that caters to high end clients such as the royal family.
In September 2014 a talent scout and sales agent discovered Nafsika’s CSM graduation collection and insisted on including this collection in her highly curated showroom at Paris Fashion Week. Launching with ‘9 to 5’ – an extension and elaboration of her graduate collection SS15, the collection was sold exclusively to Joyce Hong Kong and raised in- terest by some other highly influential international retailers like Open- ing Ceremony and Colette Paris. Highly stimulated by such recogni- tion launched her namesake label. Her graphic skills render a quirky twist to luxury embroidery – the DNA of the Nafsika Skourti brand.
