Lost, then found: each Cristina Sabaiduc collection offers something beautiful that has been created from unexpected sources -- usually a natural artifact or object that may have been overlooked or abandoned. She is inspired by everything, from chards of medieval stained glass to crystallized feathers, from rope to plastics. "It's all about research," she says ,"inspiration can come at any point. I'm always interested in new fabrications, different fabrics, and prints." Her palate is rich and effervescent: her designs are thought-provoking. While Sabaiduc explores the relationship between a garment, it's wearer, and the external world, she also focuses on creating contemporary, ethereal pieces that are beautiful, yet practical, simple, yet powerful, and, above all, effortlessly wearable.
